POST-PROCEDURE INSTRUCTIONS / FAQ’s
After your procedure:
- Rest today. You may drive and return to work tomorrow.
- Regular activities, including exercise, can resume after 1-2 days
When you should get pain relief:
- Pain relief can occur between 0 – 14 days after the procedure.
- Amount of pain relief is different for everyone.
What you can do to help your pain:
- Use an ice pack for the first 24 hours.
- Use a heating pad for the next few days if needed 3-4 times per day.
- Take over the counter pain relievers like Ibuprofen (Motrin), Tylenol or Aspirin if you can tolerate them
Will pain increase after a procedure?:
A mild to moderate increase in your usual pain is common following the procedure and should resolve within a few days.
When to seek medical attention:
Call the office if any of the following occur:
- Drainage or redness at the injection site.
- Severe increase in pain. (Mild to moderate increase in pain is normal).
- Weakness or numbness.
- Fever above 100.5 degrees.
- Loss of bowel or bladder control.
